Courtney Kelbel

Courtney was born and raised in Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor's of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, majoring in Criminal Justice and graduated with high honors. While obtaining her degree, Courtney worked in the financing industry, helping credit challenged individuals obtain financing to purchase an automobile.

Courtney attended Marquette University Law School and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree in 2009. While at Marquette she was a research assistant to former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, Janine Geske. Courtney was very active in the Restorative Justice program; serving as President of the Restorative Justice Society and participating in many community outreach programs; including "Milwaukee Safe Streets," a program developed to decrease violence and drug prevalence throughout Milwaukee's most challenging neighborhoods. Courtney was also a member of the Association of Women Lawyers' and was on the Dean's List while at Marquette.

Courtney has always had a passion for helping individuals' who are struggling financially realize that they have the ability to achieve financial freedom. She believes that the best way to assist clients is to provide them with options custom tailored to their particular situation. These options may include bankruptcy or other non-bankruptcy alternatives. Courtney specializes in debt negotiation, which is a type of non-bankruptcy alternative used to help client's eliminate their debt without the filing of a bankruptcy case. Courtney has spent a lot of time and energy in developing a debt negotiation program; as a result of the increased demand for non-bankruptcy alternatives from her clients.

Courtney was admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar in 2009, and to the Eastern District of Wisconsin in 2009. She is currently a member of the Association for Women Lawyers, The Law Office Management Section, and the Bankruptcy, Insolvency, and Creditor's Rights Section. Courtney's areas of practice include: bankruptcy, debt negotiation, credit repair, The Fair Credit Reporting Act violations, The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations, personal injury, traffic law, and criminal law.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family; especially her two younger siblings Brenna (11) and Claire (7). Courtney likes to run and has participated in several half-marathons benefiting various charities throughout Wisconsin. During the summer months she enjoys attending the various festivals and events held in Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
